Ahh, it has been a great “break”! What an opportunity to invest time and energy differently: in relationships, in conversation, in rest, in activities, and in worship. Renewed perspective and the start of a new year inspires a fresh start!
So, in an effort to set goals for the coming year, I came across a list of questions to “make peace with the year that passed”. Even though I am not one who journals, I spent time answering those questions, and aside from gaining some needed perspective, one question really challenged me: “What were your triumphs this year and how did they lead to worship?”.
When I think about triumphs related to Evansville Christian School, I thank God for a thriving enrollment, opportunities to partner with families, our successful accreditation visit (ACSI/AdvancEd), and the momentum of Evansville Christian High School planning! I leave ECS every single day with a grateful heart for: committed teachers and staff, our mission to share the Gospel and equip students, for partners in the community, and for worship that happens in the daily events of school.
So, I look forward to what God has planned for ECS in 2015, diving into His Word that invites us to worship! Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
Happy New Year!
