The news from Evansville Christian School to the community this week was historic! Paul Bair, ECS Executive Director, announced to ECS stakeholders in the Friday Flyer Newsletter, “This was an exciting week as we signed documents to secure a site to launch a Christian high school and held a prayer dedication with students, parents, staff, and church leadership. The partnership with Crossroads and Epworth United Methodist Church is an example of Kingdom cooperation and we give Him all the glory.”
In a press release earlier this week, ECS leadership explained the details. “ECS is pleased to announce agreements with Epworth United Methodist Church (EUMC) and Crossroads Christian Church (CCC) to secure a site to establish a world-class, interdenominational Christian high school. The site includes approximately sixteen acres of land at the northwest corner of Epworth Road and Lincoln Avenue in Newburgh Indiana.”
Mike Allen, 5th-8th grade principal, describes the vision for Evansville Christian High School as a 7th-12th grade school that will be a “community learning experience”.
For current ECS stakeholders, or those who attended and supported the school in its early years, the announcement of a Christian high school in our community is joyous news! As ECS celebrates forty years of service, our mission continues to “provide an exemplary learning environment to educate and equip students with a Biblical worldview who confidently engage the culture and impact the world for Christ.”
As we begin a new school year with a record 650 students, the ECS community looks forward to forty more years of serving God, equipping students, and partnering with families.
