As you may know, ECS has been in the process of starting a high school. There have been many steps taken over the past few years that have moved us closer to that becoming a reality, from community surveys to signing a purchase agreement for the land. Each step along the way has moved us closer to making the dream of a high school become a reality.
One of the steps that we took this fall was to begin an emphasis on prayer for the high school. We are giving information to students to bring home so families can be praying together. We are praying as a staff on a regular basis. And we have begun having prayer walks four times per month on the location where the high school will be built, meeting by the outdoor shelter at Epworth United Methodist Church and walking around the property. We would love for you to join us for the prayer walks as you are able:
The first Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m.
The first Thursday of each month at 8:15 a.m.
The second Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m.
The third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.
We have scheduled the prayer walks at different times to give flexibility to you on when you might be able to come. I hope that one of these times will fit into your schedule each month.
But I hope even more than just praying for a building that we would be doing something even bigger – that we would be building pray-ers. I hope that as students, parents and staff join in praying, that we would see God’s hand at work. I hope that as God answers our prayers that our faith would be strengthened. I hope that as our faith is strengthened that we will have a bigger impact on our community and the world for the sake of Jesus.
I hope that in the near future we will begin building a high school. But I hope even more that we will build a community of pray-ers, who will help to build God’s kingdom around the world.
